Building Connections
Collaborations and Partnerships
CDC Data Hub staff value internal and external collaborations. We develop networks and relationships so you get the data and expertise you need. CDC Data Hub coordinates with external partners who provide data, and we facilitate collaboration between scientists internal and external to CDC.
Data Coordination and Management
Once data assets are acquired, CDC Data Hub coordinates administrative, scientific, and financial aspects of the data for partners and CDC scientists. We conduct:
- Site visits
- Monthly and quarterly calls with data partners
- Work with partners to coordinate:
- Data updates
- Trainings
- Webinars
- Facilitate group interactions like consultations with data partners
Our Longstanding Collaborations
Communities of Practice (CoPs)
CoPs facilitate knowledge sharing, enhance collaboration, and promote best practices among data users, CDC leadership, and data providers.
Previous CoP Achievements
Previous CoPs focused on IQVIA™ ARA and MarketScan Treatment Pathways, which led to concrete products like:
- Treatment Pathways vs SAS use guidance document
- Treatment Pathways – Variations from MarketScan Files at CDC webinar
Current Active CoPs
One of our currently active CoPs is for Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) data users. It launched in Fall 2019. CMS seat holders are invited to join discussions about:
- Incidence measurement
- Method options
- Guidance provided by:
- The CMS Chronic Conditions Warehouse
- Resources from the CMS Research Data Access Center
